Anxiety is a normal response to stressful situations like taking a test or speaking in public. Anxiety becomes a disorder when it begins to interfere with your ability to perform daily tasks, it is difficult to control, the anxiety response if out of proportion to the actual danger, or it lasts for long periods of time. What Does an Anxiety Attack Feel Like?
Anxiety attacks feel like regular anxiety symptoms but it comes on suddenly and can be more intense than normal. A person having an anxiety attack likely has the feeling of impending doom, fear, or danger accompanied by shortness of breath, rapid heart rate, chest pain, or heart palpitations. The attack usually peaks within a few minutes and causes the person to avoid situations where an attack has happened before for fear that they may happen again.
Anxiety symptoms include:
- Excessive anxiety and worry
- Increased muscle aches or soreness
- Impaired concentration
- Difficulty sleeping
In order to be officially diagnosed with Anxiety (Generalized Anxiety Disorder, GAD) you have to "find it difficult to control worry on more days than not for at least six months and have three or more symptoms" (adaa.com). If you think you may have an anxiety disorder and need help, consult your doctor.

Natural Remedy for Anxiety
Anxiety is a complex condition and usually requires multiple treatments to find relief. Though the exact cause of anxiety is not fully understood, Network Chiropractic can help. The goal of Network Chiropractic is to help the body maintain balance while experiencing changing internal and external conditions. When the body experiences stress, the autonomic nervous system produces the physical and mental symptoms. The sympathetic nervous system, also known as "fight or flight", takes over and gets the body ready for physical exertion. This is a life saving response in situations where someone actually needs to run or fight. Unfortunately, people don't find themselves in life-threatening situations as frequently as their sympathetic nervous system responds in this manner.
In imbalanced nervous system can lead us to feel anxious all the time or in situations where it is not an appropriate response. For some reason, our body has learned to feel the heightened sense of fear. Network is designed to help reorganize the body's system so that it has an appropriate response and also has fewer triggers allowing the body to experience an underlying sense of peace and physical ease, instead of fear and stress. Network Chiropractic teaches they body to utilize new breath and movement patterns to repurpose old, inefficient patterns into new, fresh energy that someone can use to be, do, and have more of what they want in life. Essentially going from the feeling of survival to feeling the ability to thrive.
